A Week of Winners for the Team
Brighton brought an astonishing win for Lord Montague on 19th August 2025. The three-year-old colt showed real strength, securing his first victory at the fourth attempt in the maidens. It was a fantastic ride from jockey George Bass, and a well-deserved reward for the whole team here at West Ilsley.
Just two days later, Mezcala lined up in the Tips For Every Race At raceday-ready.com Restricted Maiden Stakes at Lingfield on 21st August. After finishing second at Nottingham, the three-year-old made no mistake this time, producing a straightforward success. Sent to the front, he dictated steady fractions through the first half of the race before quickening on the run to the home turn and finding plenty under pressure. Another excellent ride from George Bass, and warm congratulations to owners Jon and Julia Aisbitt.
After a no-show in Group 3 company at Sandown, Queen All Star wasted no time bouncing back. On 23rd August at Goodwood, she captured the Virgin Bet Best Odds Daily Handicap, delivering a polished handicap performance to improve her record to 4 wins from 6 starts. This progressive filly still looks far from the ceiling of her ability.
The winning run continued on 27th August when Sarab Star struck in the Unibet Supporting Safer Gambling Novice Stakes at Kempton. A debut winner at Salisbury last summer, he had been off the track since a testing run in the Mill Reef nearly a year earlier. Returning over 7f on the all-weather, he rediscovered his best form with a determined display, finding plenty in front under confident, hands-and-heels riding. Tom Marquand gave him a top-class steer to round off another fantastic result for the yard.
