Topaz Takes Rome

What a moment for Topaz and everyone connected with her. The daughter of Persian Force travelled to Rome's Capannelle racecourse and produced a brilliant display to land the Listed Premio Del Centenario under Finley Marsh, fending off all challengers to record a well-deserved black type success and her second career victory.

It was a first Listed winner in Italy for the yard and a wonderful reward for owners Highclere Racing and The Debussy Syndicate, who have enjoyed a memorable journey with their filly this season.

It has been quite a year for Topaz. From a promising debut to breaking her maiden at Salisbury, a gallant third in the £200,000 Tattersalls Somerville Auction Stakes at Newmarket and now a Listed winner in Rome, she has taken her owners on a truly special ride in 2026.
