Hat-trick of wins for West Ilsley Stables over the May bank holiday
West Isley Stables winning streak continues with the first weekend in May proving to be another successful few days.
Chairmanoftheboard bounced back to winning ways on Friday 2nd of May in the Elston Supports UK Financial Advisers Class 3 Handicap under jockey Connor Beasley for owners Chris Wright and David Kilburn. The 9 year old rallied inside the final furlong to lead over the last 100 yards and win going away, proving he is still capable of useful form.
Lightening Mann continued to show progression when taking the last race of the Guineas meeting on Sunday 4th of May. The 3 year old by Kameko dug in deep to get his head back in front near the line after the runner-up looked to nose ahead of him in the final half furlong.
When interviewed at the races Jack commented:
‘’We rode Lightening Mann wrong and disappointed him at Beverley last time so we made more use of him here. He's a promising type who will get further.’’
The May bank holiday’s success continued with Crestofdistinction scoring on seasonal debut with an impressive performance at Kempton on the all weather on Monday the 5th. He made another step up from his 2 year old form, breaking smartly from stall 11, making all and quickening away over the final furlong to win readily for owners Crest Racing Ix & John Porter.
Jack comments;
‘’ Delighted with Chairmanoftheboard, he’s an old timer but still possesses plenty of ability. He will hopefully be better again when he gets some soft turf.
I was really happy with Lightening Mann’s performance. He had to dig in and I think he will get 1m 4f in time.
Crestofdistinction was very impressive. He is a horse we like a lot and I hope he can keep progressing through the ranks this year.’’
