West Ilsley’s Winning Strike Continues

West Ilsley Stables continues to impress with another 10 winners in just 14 days, maintaining an exceptional strike rate of 42%.

Getreadytorumble made it two from two this year with a commanding victory at Goodwood on 20th June. Stepping up to handicap company, the 3-year-old gelding put in another game performance, pulling away to win by 2¼ lengths.

The momentum carried into the weekend with a fantastic Saturday double:

  • Banksman secured his second win in 10 days at Lingfield, travelling strongly throughout and finishing 2½ lengths clear under jockey Edward Greatrex.

  • Pomme Pomme, despite a 7lb rise in the weights, was allowed an easy lead at Haydock on 21st June. The 3-year-old filly dictated the pace and extended her winning streak to five in a row, accelerating over a furlong out to win convincingly.

At Wolverhampton on 23rd June, Bint Mohaather returned from a layoff after her Chelmsford debut last September and stormed to success. She proved far too sharp in the final furlong, delivering an excellent performance under a strong ride from Connor Beasley, who surged past rivals inside the final 110 yards.

A day later, Sukanya made a winning debut at Newbury on 24th June. The 2-year-old filly showed promise and stamina, producing a strong finish under jockey George Bass to kick off her career in style.

Hot Cash followed up on 25th June at Carlisle, where he fought bravely for first under Callum Rodriguez. The gelding stepped forward again, performing well while carrying weight against older opposition—a solid showing.

On 27th June, Estrella Divina tackled the JenningsBet Novice Stakes at Shiremoor and didn’t disappoint. Staying with the pace throughout, she took the lead inside the final furlong and ran on well to secure another win for West Ilsley, with a composed ride by Tom Marquand.

After a 5-length triumph at Nottingham in May, Excellent Believe returned on 28th June and looked every bit as dominant. He stayed prominent before pulling clear in the final furlong to win by 3¾ lengths under William Buick—a comfortable and confident performance.

On 30th June, Crestofdistinction delivered a standout ride at Wolverhampton. The 3-year-old colt quickened from the front at the home turn and never looked back. He’s now won two of his last three races on the all-weather and continues to improve. Another top effort from George Bass.

Finally, on 2nd July at Chepstow, Chief Mankato claimed his first win since his debut—and his first in a handicap. Sticking with the leaders on the outer, he took command inside the final furlong and kept on strongly to win under Edward Greatrex.
